In the second quarter of 2024, the navigation and maps category for iOS in the United Kingdom saw varying performance among its top applications. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at the trends for these essential travel companions.
Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 72K and 87K and weekly active users consistently above 9M, peaking at 9.7M in the last week of June.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic showed a steady performance in downloads, ranging from 34K to 42K, and a stable user base with an upward trend, ending June with nearly 2.9M active users.
The UK's own what3words: Navigation & Maps experienced a notable increase in downloads, starting the quarter at roughly 16K and soaring to 47K by the end of June. Active users mirrored this growth, starting at 82K and escalating to over 151K.
